Have you ever embarked on a journey of spiritual healing? If so, you know it can be a transformative experience that brings deep peace and a sense of wholeness. However, it’s important to acknowledge that this process is far from easy. As someone who has been going through my spiritual journey for the past 4 years I’ve learned that in fact, it can be downright messy, uncomfortable, and challenging.

In this post, we’ll explore what it takes to navigate the messiness of inner work by confronting your shadow self, finding compassion for yourself, staying grounded, and integrating the journey into your life.

So buckle up, because we’re about to dive deep into the heart of spiritual healing. After learning about all these tips I will share later in this post, you will be ready for whatever comes up during your spiritual journey.

This post is all about things no one tells you about going through a spiritual healing journey.

Best Spiritual Healing Journey Tips

1. Confronting Your Shadow Self

One crucial step in navigating the messiness of spiritual healing is finding compassion for yourself. It’s easy to fall into the trap of self-criticism and judgment when confronting our shadow selves. However, it’s important to remember that we all have flaws and imperfections. It’s part of what makes us human.

When we can cultivate self-compassion, we create a safe space to explore our inner selves without fear or shame. It allows us to hold our pain and struggles with kindness and understanding. So as you embark on your own journey of spiritual healing, remember to be gentle with yourself, and always approach your inner work with a sense of compassion and understanding.

2. Finding Compassion for Yourself

It’s inevitable that as we confront our shadow selves and delve into the messiness of inner work, we will come across difficult emotions and painful memories. It’s important to acknowledge these feelings without judgment and to practice self-compassion. This means being kind to ourselves and treating ourselves with the same level of care and empathy that we would extend to a dear friend. By doing so, we can create a safe space to explore these emotions without fear or shame, and ultimately move towards healing.

Of course, practicing self-compassion is easier said than done. We are often our own worst critic, and it can be difficult to break out of this cycle of negative self-talk. Ask yourself daily: would I speak to a friend in the same harsh way that I’m speaking to myself? If the answer is no, try extending the same level of kindness and understanding to yourself. This will get easier with time, I promise!

3. Staying Grounded During Inner Work

Staying grounded during inner work is crucial to maintaining our emotional well-being.

Of course, engaging in inner work and exploring our emotions can bring up a lot of intense feelings and experiences. It’s common to feel overwhelmed or unmoored during this process. That’s why staying grounded and centered is crucial as we do our spiritual healing work.

First, it’s important to establish a regular self-care routine. This might include things like getting enough sleep, eating nourishing foods, moving your body in a way that feels good, and taking breaks when you need them. When prioritizing our physical and emotional needs, we’re more likely to feel grounded and centered throughout the day.

4. Regular Meditation And Mindfulness Practices

Another helpful tool is meditation, yoga or mindfulness practices. Taking just a few moments each day to focus on your breath or tune into your body can help you stay present and calm during emotional turbulence. Even if you don’t consider yourself a “meditation person,” simply taking a few deep breaths before beginning your inner work can help you feel more centered and focused.

Finally, it can be helpful to cultivate a sense of self-compassion and kindness towards yourself. Remember, this is hard work, and it’s okay to feel overwhelmed or unsteady at times. Try treating yourself with the same level of kindness and understanding that you would offer to a close friend. And, if you find yourself struggling, don’t be afraid to reach out for support from a trusted friend, therapist, or spiritual mentor.

By prioritizing our self-care, practicing mindfulness, and cultivating self-compassion, we can stay grounded during even the messiest parts of our spiritual healing journey. These tools will help us approach our inner work with greater ease and resilience, setting us up for a more integrated and fulfilling life on the other side.

5. Integrating Your Healing Journey into Your Life

One of the most challenging aspects of spiritual healing is integrating the insights we gain into our daily lives. As we navigate the messiness of inner work, old habits and thought patterns may resurface, and it can be tempting to fall back into familiar patterns. However, by prioritizing our self-care, practicing mindfulness, and cultivating self-compassion, we can stay grounded during even the messiest parts of our spiritual healing journey.

Self-care can take many forms, from daily meditation to regular exercise to simply taking a moment to breathe deeply when we feel overwhelmed. By carving out time for ourselves each day, we signal to our subconscious that our well-being is a priority. This can help us develop a greater sense of self-awareness and compassion, which in turn can help us stay grounded as we navigate the twists and turns of our healing journey.

When I began incorporating yoga into my daily routine, I started by investing in a beautiful mat and placing it where I could see it every day. This way, it felt like a gentle invitation to practice, especially in the evenings. If you’re new to yoga and meditation, you might be wondering where to find your first mat. 6. Slowing down and living in the moment

Mindfulness is another key tool in the spiritual healing toolkit. By cultivating greater awareness of our thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations, we can develop a deeper understanding of our inner landscape. This can help us recognize patterns and triggers that may be holding us back, allowing us to shift our perspective and approach our healing journey with greater intention and clarity. Try to do things more mindfully, such as cooking, cleaning, or simply walking. Instead of rushing through the activity, try to use all your senses while enjoying the present moment.

7. Accepting that your spiritual healing journey is only yours to walk.

The hardest part of a spiritual healing journey is that it might sometimes feel very lonely. After your awakening, you automatically start seeing the world with completely different eyes. This is an incredible feeling like you finally can see everything clearly.

After the honeymoon face is over, you might start feeling frustrated since it feels like you don’t fit in anymore. Not everyone understands why you suddenly see the world so differently and you get tired of pretending you’re the person you were before, so you might find it easier to isolate yourself. Also, be prepared to start hearing comments like; you’ve changed, you’re crazy, or you’re too sensitive.

Old friends might have a hard time seeing you as a changed person. It doesn’t matter how much you talk about everything you’ve learned to someone who is not open to learning or experiencing a spiritual healing journey themselves. Even though it might feel frustrating, it’s good to remember that your spiritual journey is YOURS, not THEIRS. Maybe, you will find back to each other later in life, if it’s meant to be.

Of course, you can still have great relationships with others who are not as spiritually awakened as you as long as you understand that it’s not your job to try to change the way they see the world. If it’s meant to, they will go through their spiritual healing journey when the time is right.

8. Finding Your Soul Family

It’s really important to find other like-minded people out there who understand you on a soul level. Only this way you will be able to continue growing spiritually; otherwise, you will always feel like something’s missing and like you are misunderstood.

Make sure you don’t walk the journey alone, be open and find people who are interested in your journey and looking at the world the same way as you. If you are open, you will find your tribe sooner than you think. A great way to start connecting with other spiritual people is online, and this is actually the main reason why I’m writing this blog so that more like-minded people from all over the world can connect, learn and grow together.
